We stand together with communities and defenders.
At the heart of the Nigerien Network of Human Rights Defenders (RNDDH) lies a simple, powerful principle: Every person in Niger deserves to live with dignity, freedom, and respect for their fundamental human rights. We are the essential shield for those who stand up for these rights and the collective voice for the vulnerable and marginalized.
Our operational strategy is structured around three interlocking pillars:
Operating from our headquarters in Niamey and empowered by a network of over 150 defenders spread across Niger's eight regions, our daily activities are relentless. We conduct training in remote areas, meticulously document human rights violations, and engage in strategic advocacy with state authorities.
This work is directed toward achieving three core objectives: fostering a deep-rooted culture of human rights, protecting vulnerable populations—especially women, children, and minorities—and strengthening civil society as a bedrock of our democracy.
We witness daily the challenges and the remarkable resilience of our people, confirming that empowered communities and protected defenders are the keys to sustainable change. The path to a rights-respecting Niger is demanding, but our commitment is unwavering. We continue our work because we believe unequivocally in a future where justice prevails, and every Nigerien can exercise their fundamental freedoms without fear.
